Co-Counsel & Consulting

Many appeals are won or lost before the trial ends. An objection that was never made, or an issue that was never raised, can be waived, and that can take a strong argument off the table. Anne works with trial lawyers and their clients to spot appellate issues early, preserve the record, and decide whether and how to appeal after judgment.

She can serve as co-counsel on an appeal while trial counsel stays involved. She can also review a record and give a candid second opinion on which issues are worth raising, or help with a specific stage of the case, such as a motion to correct error or a petition to transfer. For clients, the lawyer who knows your case best stays on it while an appellate lawyer takes a fresh look at the record. For trial lawyers, you get help with the appellate work without handing off the client relationship.
